AUTUMN TERM 2020
Starting the week beginning 21st September!
Learning Club is for children who will be in Year 4, 5, 6 or 7 in September 2020. There are both Maths and Literacy Learning Club classes.
The classes are small, friendly and supportive so that each child is able to fulfil their potential. So, whether the problem is gaps in your child’s foundations, making sense of what they are learning or lack of confidence in their schoolwork, I am here to help as I believe that happy and confident learners are eager learners.
Not only will they benefit from other children’s ideas, they will also get a confidence boost from seeing other children learn from their ideas.
These classes are limited to 6 children (*minimum 3 children). Each session will last 45 minutes and will take place on Zoom.
Maths Learning Club
During the Autumn term there are two Maths learning club classes running: Year 4/5 group and a Year 6/7 group.
Year 4 and 5 Group *coming soon*
In these sessions we will focus on:
- Place value
- Number sense (including using times tables, multiples and factors)
- Effective strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
My method is based on using low threshold, high ceiling activities so that all children can access the activity and work to their individual level of potential. They will receive encouragement throughout to help increase their resilience and enjoyment of learning.
£17 per session
Year 6 and 7 group
During the Autumn term we focus on:
- Mean, median, mode and range
My method is based on using bar models as an aid to solving algebra and ratio questions. They will receive encouragement throughout to help increase their resilience and enjoyment of learning.

I teach small friendly classes of no more than six children. I can give each child individual attention where required. There is also a real sense of camaraderie as everyone is in the same boat, working towards the same goal. The children make firm friendships too!
Weekly homework forms an essential part of the course. It will usually take about 30 minutes to complete each week. I use Loom to send children a recap of the lesson and the homework so it is easily accessible and can be sent straight back to me to check. Any misconceptions are addressed in the next session through a starter activity.
I teach all lessons online in a secure room in Zoom. Online tuition is a superb way of learning. It offers more flexibility for parents and is less stressful for the pupil. It is a super way of teaching as I can share and send materials straightaway.
The cost of group tuition is less than half that of one-to-one tuition with me. It’s an excellent investment in your child’s future. Payment plans are available.
